Family is one of the most important things for most people, however, there are many times when a family is very hard to deal with. After Frank attempts suicide he is brought into his sister Sheryl's home and joins them as they drive 3 states away to a beauty pageant for her daughter Olive. A film that tackles many different personalities and deals with both happy and dark themes, it still holds on to a feel-good style movie and that's the difference between being a winner and a loser.

Metaphors In Films

There are many things that can mean something else, an object can represent a memory, a place can represent an idea, and maybe a person can represent fear. Maybe not but either way there are plenty of themes in movies that take on different meanings and today we talk about them. Review: Don’t Worry Darling

What if I said that you and a loved one could live in a world where you could be perfect? Well, it doesn't really go that way as Alice and her husband Jack live in a secret society in the 50s that just so happens to be in virtual reality. A unique cult-style film with a twist reveal and a stellar performance from Florence Pugh unfortunately isn't enough to save this very confusing story. Nonetheless, this is something to give a chance because "all they ask is to stay here. where it's safe." 

The Beauty of Slow Films

Patience is a virtue, and that can go the same for films. The idea of a "slow" film usually gives the idea that it may be dull or nothing happens. While there are some that follow this, the majority provide so much more being able to dive into character development, plot, and most of the time a relatable story. As always we want to know what your thoughts are as grab a coffee and take a ride in the summer fields with the beauty of slow films.

Review: Raging Bull

To be a champion means to perceive and give everything you have to what you're trying to achieve, but most of the time you lose everything in the process. We follow the story of Jack La Motto, a boxer attempting to become champion. Unlike a film like Rocky, this is a gritty tale that is less about boxing and more about a man with anger issues destroying the lives of every loved one around him. A true classic that has a deep story to tell with an award-winning performance by De Niro, you might be pretty no more after going a round in this one though. 

Airplane Films

While on a flight you have a few options, you can try to sleep, you could read while a baby is screaming, or you could watch a movie. Not every movie can be a good one to watch while flying, there are a few variables that make an enjoyable one. As always we would like to know what you think fits the criteria as we buckle up and ask for more little peanut bags with films to watch on an airplane.

Review: Everything, Everywhere, All At Once

Have you ever had a weird feeling that had you done one minor thing differently your whole life would be changed? What if you could access infinite options? Evelyn can do this as she is met with a multiverse being looking to destroy her, all while trying to do her taxes and keep her failing marriage together. An A24 film with a massive budget, you can see the thought and care put into every scene while having a powerful message about family. This is a film that is so much that you may need to take a year or two off from revisiting it but when you have unlimited possibilities, "nothing matters"

Movies That Flopped

Not every movie can be a masterpiece, it just isn't possible. With that being said, while not all can be perfect, most are still good but there are those on the opposite spectrum. Today we discuss those films that bombed not only with viewers but also at the box office. As always we want to know some of your picks, as we put in millions and make only dollars back with movies that flopped.

Review: Possessor

Have you ever not felt like yourself completely? Maybe someone else is in control? In this film, we follow Vos, a secret government worker who specializes in taking over another person's body in order to get close and assassinate a target.  While beautiful, a film that is more than just a little confusing at times. We still feel like this film is worth it on all fronts, and you could say we're "absolutely starving" to see what this director does next. 

Frank Experiences A Film Set

For many, the magic of film is seen through the camera, but those who work behind the camera get to see a whole different side. Today we talk about Frank's journey as he was able to work on set behind the scenes for an upcoming independent film.
